Have you ever wanted to work hands-on with cutting-edge machines? Electromechanical technicians work with some of the most advanced equipment available in the manufacturing industry.

This 1-year regional pathway begins to prepare students for an entry-level position as an industrial mechanic or maintenance position. Electromechanical Technicians utilize knowledge and skills developed from learning various topics including electrical, mechanical, fluid power to maintain and repair industrial equipment and systems.

Key Competencies

• Understand the mechanical, chemical, environmental, and electrical aspects of safety.

• Discover the role of OSHA in the workplace.

• Interpret forms such as Material Safety Data Sheets.

• Demonstrate the proper use of (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment and in other safety procedures related to materials handling and storage.

• Explore electrical topics, including AC and DC theory, Ohm’s Law, Electrical Circuits, Electrical Power Generation, Motors, and Transformers.

• Study the numbering systems used in digital circuits, including Boolean algebra, including circuits such as basic gates, counters, shift registers, and memories as they apply to communications and computer systems.

• Understand the two of the most common types of process control systems, flow and liquid level, and the basic concepts on which other systems are based.

• Calibrate, adjust, install, operate, and connect process control systems in industrial applications.
